چکیده

We analyze the normal electronic states of Na0.35CoO2 based on the multi-orbital Hubbard model using the FLEX approximation. The fundamental electronic property of this system is drastically changed by the presence or absence of the small hole pockets associated with the eg orbital. This change of the Fermi surface topology may be caused by the crystalline electric splitting due to the trigonal distortion. When small hole pockets are absent, the weak pseudogap bahaviors appear in the density of states and the uniform spin susceptibility, which are observed by recent experiments. We estimate the mass enhancement factor of quasiparticle m∗/m ≃ 1.5 ∼ 1.8. This result suppports ARPES measurements.

Ferromagnetic fluctuation and superconductivity in Na0.35CoO2·1.3H2O:FLEX study ofmulti-orbital Hubbardmodel

Spin and charge fluctuations and superconductivity in Na0.35CoO2·1.3H2O are studied based on a multi-orbital Hubbard model. By applying the fluctuation exchange (FLEX) approximation, we show that the Hund’s-rule coupling between the Co t2g orbitals causes ferromagnetic spin fluctuation. Triplet pairing is favored by this ferromagnetic fluctuation on the hole-pocket band. We propose that, in Na0...

Diagrammatic perturbation theory and the pseudogap

We study a model of quasiparticles on a two-dimensional square lattice coupled to Gaussian distributed dynamical molecular fields. We consider two types of such fields, a vector molecular field that couples to the quasiparticle spin-density and a scalar field coupled to the quasiparticle number density. The model describes quasiparticles coupled to spin or charge fluctuations, and is solved by ...

Conditions for magnetically induced singlet d-wave superconductivity on the square lattice

It is expected that at weak to intermediate coupling, d-wave superconductivity can be induced by antiferromagnetic fluctuations. However, one needs to clarify the role of Fermi surface topology, density of states, pseudogap, and wave vector of the magnetic fluctuations on the nature and strength of the induced d-wave state. To this end, we study the generalized phase diagram of the two-dimensio...

Spin fluctuations and pseudogap in the two-dimensional half-filled Hubbard model at weak coupling

– Starting from the Hubbard model in the weak-coupling limit, we derive a spinfermion model where the collective spin excitations are described by a non-linear sigma model. This result is used to compute the fermion spectral function A(k, ω) in the low-temperature regime where the antiferromagnetic (AF) coherence length is exponentially large (“renormalized classical” regime). At the Fermi leve...
